There are lots of ways you can get involved – check out some ideas below.
One of the most efficient ways to donate is through financial contributions. Not only does it allow us to use our buying power to purchase more food per dollar, but also to buy the food that is currently needed, such as the purchase of perishables like Milk and Eggs.
Donations of money can be made online by using the Donate Now button below. A tax receipt will be automatically generated. We also accept e-transfers. Please use BoundaryFoodBankOffice@gmail.com as the email address for e-transfers and please include your mailing address so we can issue you a tax receipt. We also accept donations by cash or cheque, by mail or in person at the Food Bank. Tax receipts can be issued for donations, just be sure to let us know your mailing address.
While 80% of our donations come in November and December, hunger is a year round issue. If you are able please consider selecting the monthly contribution option to making our community healthier.

Many families in our community are struggling. Approximately 25% of our clients are children, some of whom are going to school hungry. Without lunch, these students’ ability to learn is greatly impacted. Our school snack program is one way we help ensure that the children in our community have healthy, nutritious snacks to curb their hunger.
Donations of Food
Donations can be dropped off at the Boundary Community Food Bank on Tuesdays between 10 am and 3 pm, or by appointment by calling 250-442-2800. You can also drop items off in Grand Forks at the bins at Buy Low Foods, Save On Foods or Extra Foods.
Farmers and Gardeners
We welcome any produce or fruit from your home garden or farm. Revenue Canada offers a tax credit for farmers who donate fresh food from their farm. Check out the link below.
Donations Of Time
The Boundary Community Food Bank is a 100% volunteer organization. We’re a friendly and energetic bunch, but we always need more help. Please consider volunteering your time and making a meaningful difference in our community.
There are lots of different ways for you to be involved, from helping re-pack food prior to distribution, to collecting food from one of our partners, serving clients, cleaning produce, etc. We’ll fit you to the right job for your skill set.
Check out our Volunteer page, send in your volunteer application form and we’ll be in touch to get you started.
Corporate Donor / Sponsor
We are committed to forming meaningful partnerships with other organizations and with our business community.
If you have any questions or would like to meet to discuss possible ideas, please feel free to contact our Food Bank President, Mike Wakelin, at 250-442-2800 or BoundaryFoodBank@gmail.com. Presently, we are looking for a group to take on a door-to-door bag drop-off/food collection program in Grand Forks.
